Baby It's Cold Outside - Let's Get Sketchy

Happy December!!  I can't believe it's less than a month to Christmas. I guess I should start getting ready, lol. This is our new sketch reveal this week at Let's Get Sketchy. This is my adopted niece Kinslee. Her mom and I have been friends for a long time and little Kins always calls me Aunty! So Aunty I am. This is her photo from last Christmas, and I've had it on my desk now for almost a year, waiting for the right layout, and here it is. Love these papers from Authentique, I can't get enough of the textures and colors from this collection. I did a little modeling paste and stencilling around the edges, then added some chalking. Thought it just needed a little something, somethin!. Hope you can join us and play along!

Thanks so much for stopping by. I love reading your comments and I appreciate your scrappy support! Have a wonderfully happy scrappy day! Lynn

Isla Quinn - Let's Get Sketchy

I LOVE Mondays! It's time to see what our girls at Let's Get Sketchy have created with the new sketch. I love all the different styles and the way everyone interprets a sketch. For this one I chose to scrap the Thank You card my niece gave me. It had such an adorable photo of Isla, and all the info about her birth! The layout started off just fine. Then I had one of those "it needs something more" moments..hmmm...So I got out the punches and got to work. Well..let's just say the corners didn't quite work out, lol..Hence the tearing and the bows at the top and bottom. I should have just told you all I meant to do it, lol. I think in the end it still looks quite pretty..and Isla steals the whole layout anyways, lol. I don't see much else besides that cute little girl. So I'm off to check out the other design team layouts...hope you can join me!

Bloom Where You Are Planted

Ok, so I should be doing laundry and cleaning the house, but of course I just had to pop onto my blog for just a second right? Well, when I saw the challenge for a "white space" layout on the  Bo Bunny blog, I just couldn't resist. I had the Country Garden collection right by my desk in my Bo Bunny basket ( yes I have a basket where I keep everything Bo Bunny, lol). And just how long can a "white space" layout take, just a few minutes right, and then I could go back to the laundry, lol. Nope... I spent the last few hours trying NOT to add more stuff to my layout, lol. Awhile ago I took some of the kids baby photos out of the box and I just couldn't resist doing one of Nicole when she was just six months old. Boy, does this bring back memories. So now it's 5:00 p.m. and I had better scoot and finish up the laundry so we can leave on holidays!! Have a great week everyone!

They keep challenging me to play with colors and lines that I'm not familiar with, and I love them for it. Urban Scrapbook / Scrap it With A Song - Nothing Compares 2 U

This is my son Ryan when he was a year old. So many people have been doing vintage photos, or just older photos that have never been scrapped, so it made that little light bulb go off in my head, lol. I had done scrapbooks for my kids almost 20 years ago, ummm...not sure I would show those to anyone now, lol. The other day I was thinking about what photo I wanted to scrap. I went downstairs where it was like Euphoria...10 photo boxes FULL of family photos that have never been scrapped. So look forward my friends to seeing my Ryan who is now 20 as a baby and Nicole who is now 24 as a baby too. I'm excited to begin this journey of memories. This layout is for my debut as a new designer with Scrap It With A Song. I have used their songs a billion times for layout inspiration and titles, so I am honored to join such a team of fabulous ladies. I also used some new Echo Park paper, and it's the first time I've even bought a line from them. I am lovin it!!! I think there is more Echo Park in my future. I took inspiration from Leslie's sketch on the Echo Park Blog. This layout will also be taking a trip to Urban Scrapbook!! I did mention I love those girls right? lol  This was a mouth full...but I'm so happy!!!
