Just an Everyday Kind of Day

Morning Everyone and Happy March! I'm excited we are one step closer to Spring! I would love to share this layout I did for my design board at Urban Scrapbook. This was our March challenge. The team all creates layouts and we showcase them all together. I love seeing what the other girls create. This is of Ashley and Ryan and as the title says.. it's just an everyday kind of day. Now can you all tell I was playing with my Cameo? I cut out the hexagon background then used the little hexagons from it around my layout. Then I cut out the title and the photo frame with it too. I'm having so much fun with this! I think I'm a "little" addicted! Have a wonderful day everyone!

Hugs & Kisses

Morning! This is my layout for our display board at Urban Scrapbook. It's so fun to go in and see what's in the kits for the month. I love going into the store and seeing all ten designers take on the kit. This is a line from Fancy Pants collection Love Note. Such pretty colors! I wanted to try something different so I got a little wild wetting and rolling the background, lol. With the black cardstock it almost looks like a picture frame if you see it in real. I didn't even follow a sketch which is very unlike me. I just played and let it happen. This of course is Nicole & Chris hanging out at Zoo lights in Calgary. I loved the hearts above them. So Happy Wednesday everyone, enjoy your day!

Merry & Bright & A Blog Hop Winner

Happy New Years Everyone!!! Today I'm sharing a layout I did for my local scrapbook store Urban Scrapbook. I started doing projects for the store last February and just recently got added to the "display" team. We all work with the same materials and then they are all displayed together at the front of the store. It's so much fun to see what the other girls did. As most of you know since early December I've been pretty sick, so I hadn't touched a piece of paper or a paint brush in nearly three weeks. This morning I headed into the studio and played around ( since my layout was due today). It was nice to play a little. Hope you all have a blessed New Years filled with joy, love, laughter and scrappy goodness!! I'm so thankful to all of you who follow my blog, who leave such sweet comments and those that have become facebook friends. You fill my days with laughter and smiles!!!

And Now....the winner of the Top Ten Blog Hop is
Tammie Lien
Tammie, if you can send me an email to scrappyhappymom@hotmail.com within 7 days, I will send your prize right out to you! Thanks to everyone who hopped along!

Tangled & Zoo Lights

Hi Girls!! In between taking care of Christopher who is doing much better these days and working on a contract deal, I managed to stop into Urban Scrapbook to pick up my new supplies for my new projects. These both are for the stores display. It's fun to always get to work with new collections and embellishments. This one is ME, lol. We always have so much fun decorating for Christmas. Chris and Ryan always put up the tree and Nicole organizes the lights. Mom's job is too decorate the tree because it takes me forever to sit and look at each ornament. The kids get bored by the time I'm done, lol. On a side note I wanted to mention Urban Scrapbook's blog. Every day Pat puts up a new idea she has found by one of the designers or something she's found fun on another blog. Lots of great ideas each and every day!
This one is using the new Authentique " Lovely" collection. Ohhh I'm in love with this line. This is a photo of Chris and Nicole earlier this year at Zoo Lights in Calgary. I was in awe of the whole zoo lit up for the Christmas Season. I'm definitely making a trip back there this year to see it again. Now I'm off to play my game of the "Four Bears". That's hubby, myself, Jax & Daisy, lol.  Since Chris has been staying with us, he is using our bedroom since it's easier to get around and the puppies can't get to him, lol. We have tried sleeping in the living room on the pull out couch (too soft), next we tried foam mattress'es on the den floor ( too hard), we then moved on to Ryan's room where the bed was (just right). Tonight..who knows where we will end up! Have an awesome day everyone and enjoy your weekend!

Just Me and My Girl Daisy

Today I have one more layout to share. Last week I was at Urban Scrapbook and my sweet friend Pat who also co-ordinates our design team says "Come with me..do I have a challenge for YOU", lol. Oh I love when she says that, lol. When I first saw this Prima line, I had no clue where to even start. One of the sheets had triangles, so I thought..hmmm maybe cut those out and layer them? The next sheet had the flowers on it..hmmm maybe fussy cut those and crackle them? I used some pop dots and layered them over the pattern that was on the third sheet which I used for my background. I'm still trying to figure out just how much crackle something needs, lol. In the end I thought it does look a little "busy" but I did complete the challenge!!! Now I'm tapping my fingers and trying to decide what to do next!!

Toil & Trouble

I know, I know..your all saying "What's she doing posting a Halloween layout in August?". Well let me explain, lol. The girls at Urban Scrapbook are busy decorating the store for Fall, so Pat said "Hey Lynn, would you like to use the new Authentique and do a Halloween layout?". Well of course I was happy to oblige, lol. I got out my black distress crackle and gave it a whirl. Now if only I can figure out how to get it off the template...live and learn my friends. I even gave the layout a shot of Goosebumps (can't really see them). It was fun to do something grungy, well my form of grungy anyways. My sister sent me this photo of her daughter Laya and Aaron last Halloween when I told her about my latest project, so thanks Char!. His makeup was just amazing. When he showed up at my door I just couldn't stop staring. So Happy Halloween in August my friends!!

Fall

Morning Again, lol... Yesterday I was at Urban Scrapbook picking up my next page assignments and came home with this Simple Stories line. What fun little stickers they have. I liked the country fall feel to the project. My assignment was to use the "Snap Pockets". I used the little ones at the bottom and popped the stickers off the page with some pop dots. I used the big pocket for my background for the photos. It didn't turn out quite the way I thought it would, but it's always a journey right? I used the sketch over at Crafting Family for some inspiration on my project. This is my first time playing along!

Sweet And Adorable

Welcome Baby Isla!!!
I'm a great aunt for the second time. Our new addition Isla Quinn was born on August 13th weighing a whopping 7 pounds! She is just too adorable for words!!

Yesterday was my trip to Urban Scrapbook to pick up my goodies for my next design team assignment. Well Pat sure challenged me this week. She gave me the new Crate Paper baby girl line to work with but then suggested I do a two page layout. It's been a long time since I've done one of those. I think back to a time where that's all I did. First I started with some plain pink cardstock. I inked, I misted, I got out my Prima template, it curled, I ironed, then I ended up covering up the whole thing, lol.  I had no idea where to even start until my sweet friend Kelly who had just done a sketch for Canadian Scrapbooker suggested that I go take a peek at her two page sketch! Well..after seeing her amazing layout..I was on my way. So thank you Kelly!!!! I just couldn't do a plain background so I decided to go for a "quilt" look. This layout took me all day to do, lol. I think it will be a gift for my mom who is so thrilled to be a great grandma again.

Lazy Days

Is there anything better than those lazy days at the lake? The days when you just hang out, play in the water, soak up the sun, play in the sand? Yes, I'm talking about the day in the life of a Goldendoodle, lol. It's all about play and sleep. Well, I guess those are my days at the lake too, lol. My sweet friend Pat at Urban Scrapbook challenged me once again to use this collection from Bo Bunny to do a lake layout. Dark rich colors, looks like fall? I'm in love!!! With the sketch at Let's Capture These Sketches I was set! So much fun! Hope your all having a sunny and beautiful day!

Just Married

I can't believe that it's been almost a year since Nicole & Chris got married. Time sure flies by. When I was at Urban Scrapbook, Pat gave me these beautiful papers and elements from the new Melissa Frances collection called Attic Treasures to design with. Perfect for a wedding layout. Pat asked if I had any wedding photos left...well maybe about 900, lol. It was fun to do a pretty and romantic layout. I just love being on the design team at Urban. I always get such beautiful product to play with, and Pat always throws in a challenge for me!!!

The Best Days Are With You

OOH LA LA.... When Pat at Urban Scrapbook gave me this new line from Carta Bella I was pretty excited. My first idea was a picture of Daisy because of the pink poodle theme of the paper. But then I saw the photo of Ryan and Ashley and I thought, they look so cute with those pink hearts, I couldn't resist scrapping this photo of them again, it just seemed to fit. Now for some inspiration...the sketch at Stuck On U Sketches was so cute and again...a perfect fit for the paper and photo! Just a winning combination all around! I hope you all are having a wonderful summer day!!

Unwritten

Morning Everyone! It's Thursday, so that means a new song reveal at Scrap It With A Song. Today our Rock Chicks are showcasing layouts from the song "Unwritten" by Natasha Bedingfield. Each week we feature a new song and you have all month to enter. If you link up your project you just may be chosen to join us as a Guest Designer! Thanks to Pat at the Urban Scrapbook, I was once again challenged to use the new Glitz Design products. So yummy! I love the earthy tones and got right to cutting and inking, not sure where it was going to go. The song was so inspiring, it just seemed to flow! Have a wonderful day and hope to see you singing along with us!

"Furever" Family

Today is another new sketch reveal at Sketchabilities. I just love working with Karan's sketches, it's always such a pleasure to see what she has in store for us. I hope you can stop by and join in our challenge! For this one I wanted to do a photo of our new "Furever" Family. These little pups bring such joy into our lives. Each day is a new adventure. They love the snow, they love the rain, they love the dirt and REALLY love my flowers and driftwood, lol. I used the new Studio Calico line that Pat at Urban Scrapbook gave me to work with. I love the challenge of new products. I have never used "Thickers" before, and these were double sided and I got to glitter, which I've never done before either. Now I have something new to play with, Thanks Pat!!! So here is my new family which is growing by leaps and bounds!
