Climb Every Mountain - Boys Rule

Morning Everyone! It's my day to share at Boys Rule. This layout I did of Ryan rock climbing. My brother-in-law is a mountain guide and he is always on some amazing adventure. One weekend he was free so he wanted to take the kids rock climbing. I was clinging to the side of the rocks as we were dangling over a river. The boys had a blast while I tried to breathe. For the layout I combined some Authentique and Kaisercraft. I love how Laura-Lee puts the kits together. All the elements and papers just magically fit together. I've done 6 projects with this kit and there are still lots of goodies left over. If you haven't checked out the kits and have boys, your going to want to take a peek!! Lots of awesomeness!!

It's Fun Being A Kid - Boys Rule

Morning Scrappy Friends! I'm so excited today!! My very first sketch design is up at Boys Rule. Laura encouraged me to give it a try and this was my first attempt. I'm so excited they decided to use it. I had these photos of Noah that I wanted to scrap sitting on my fridge. I keep taking photos off the fridge, and now it's looking pretty bare! So note to my family....... Aunty needs more photos!!! I used the patterned papers from Authentique that were in the March/April kit and I really like how they match Noah's shirt. I hope that you can stop by and play along with us, I would love to see what you create using the sketch!! Have an awesome day everyone!

The Lazy Days of Summer - Let's Get Sketchy

Good Morning and Happy Monday Bloggy Friends!! We have a new sketch reveal up at Let's Get Sketchy today by my sweet friend Brenshevia.  Now this one was a challenge for me. I didn't know where to begin until I pulled out my stash of Authentique papers. After doing a little math to cut out the patterns, I was on my way!!! I wasn't sure what it was going to look like, but I really like the way it came together in the end. I loved this photo of my wet doodles just lazing around last summer, and I thought it worked well with the colors of the papers. I can't wait to see what everyone does with this sketch!! Have a wonderful day!

Just an Everyday Kind of Day

Morning Everyone and Happy March! I'm excited we are one step closer to Spring! I would love to share this layout I did for my design board at Urban Scrapbook. This was our March challenge. The team all creates layouts and we showcase them all together. I love seeing what the other girls create. This is of Ashley and Ryan and as the title says.. it's just an everyday kind of day. Now can you all tell I was playing with my Cameo? I cut out the hexagon background then used the little hexagons from it around my layout. Then I cut out the title and the photo frame with it too. I'm having so much fun with this! I think I'm a "little" addicted! Have a wonderful day everyone!

I wanted to play with my mixed media goodies and try to put them into a layout.. I even tried some paint splatters ( that one's for you Laurie). The other fun thing I tried for the first time was my new Cameo.. I cut out the title with it.. one big step forward in learning this new machine of mine!!!! So.. I hope your all having a fabulous day!!!

Curiosity - Let's Get Sketchy

Morning!!! I'm hoping this scheduled post comes up, lol. Hubby and I are in Victoria enjoying an early spring vacation and will be home tomorrow night! Since it's Monday, that means a new sketch is up for everyone to play with. I loved this one from Bev, lots of fun things to add to a project. This is Ryan in Grade 7. He decided he wanted to join the Jazz Band at school and play the trumpet! It was so much fun! I remember being in a Jazz band in highschool. The band did a few tours and played in a competition here at home. My goal is to scrap more photos of my sweet boy! The girl layouts come so easy for me, and these boy ones..they are a challenge! I tried not to put flowers on this one, lol. Hope your all having a fantastic Monday!!!

Baby It's Cold Outside - Let's Get Sketchy

Happy December!!  I can't believe it's less than a month to Christmas. I guess I should start getting ready, lol. This is our new sketch reveal this week at Let's Get Sketchy. This is my adopted niece Kinslee. Her mom and I have been friends for a long time and little Kins always calls me Aunty! So Aunty I am. This is her photo from last Christmas, and I've had it on my desk now for almost a year, waiting for the right layout, and here it is. Love these papers from Authentique, I can't get enough of the textures and colors from this collection. I did a little modeling paste and stencilling around the edges, then added some chalking. Thought it just needed a little something, somethin!. Hope you can join us and play along!

Perfect Fit

Happy Monday Friends!! Hope all my American Friends had a blessed holiday weekend. I had a little down time this weekend so I thought I would play along with a challenge or two. I've been crazy busy with design assignments, which are fun and challenging in themselves, but sometimes it's just fun to play along at a few of my favorite blogs. This layout first started with a sketch I found at Scrapping Everyday Miracles. It had a twist to have a number on your layout. I do have little numbers on the circles, hope you can see them!  Then I was off to one of my favorite blogs Authentique to see what new inspiration I could find there. Well.. they are having a color challenge! Perfect for the Original collection I've been hanging on to. So combine the two and I had so much fun. I even did some stitching on it, but it's hard to see. You probably all recognize "Big Boy Jax", lol. This layout is all about how he is the "Perfect Fit" for my family and for myself. He is the most loving dog I think I have ever owned. His gentle personality and big brown eyes win me over every time. I still am amazed that he is still a puppy at 75 pounds, lol. As my daughter calls him "Mr. J" has won all of our hearts.

Peaceful Landscape

Monday, Monday!!! You all know by now what that means, lol. A new sketch reveal up at Let's Get Sketchy. Today's sketch is from our very own Bev, she is so talented. This layout I did using a photo we took on our October trip out to the cabin. Ohhh the weather man was telling us we were going to have a glorious weekend!! Full of sun and warmth. Un huh!!! We arrive at the cabin Friday morning and the snow starts falling. In total we had over 3 inches by the end of the day, lol.  I can't complain because it was so beautiful, and the dogs saw their first snow fall. We had fun romping and playing. It did melt by Sunday, but I wanted to capture our first taste of winter.

Tangled & Zoo Lights

Hi Girls!! In between taking care of Christopher who is doing much better these days and working on a contract deal, I managed to stop into Urban Scrapbook to pick up my new supplies for my new projects. These both are for the stores display. It's fun to always get to work with new collections and embellishments. This one is ME, lol. We always have so much fun decorating for Christmas. Chris and Ryan always put up the tree and Nicole organizes the lights. Mom's job is too decorate the tree because it takes me forever to sit and look at each ornament. The kids get bored by the time I'm done, lol. On a side note I wanted to mention Urban Scrapbook's blog. Every day Pat puts up a new idea she has found by one of the designers or something she's found fun on another blog. Lots of great ideas each and every day!
This one is using the new Authentique " Lovely" collection. Ohhh I'm in love with this line. This is a photo of Chris and Nicole earlier this year at Zoo Lights in Calgary. I was in awe of the whole zoo lit up for the Christmas Season. I'm definitely making a trip back there this year to see it again. Now I'm off to play my game of the "Four Bears". That's hubby, myself, Jax & Daisy, lol.  Since Chris has been staying with us, he is using our bedroom since it's easier to get around and the puppies can't get to him, lol. We have tried sleeping in the living room on the pull out couch (too soft), next we tried foam mattress'es on the den floor ( too hard), we then moved on to Ryan's room where the bed was (just right). Tonight..who knows where we will end up! Have an awesome day everyone and enjoy your weekend!

I'm a Guest At Authentique Paper Today!!!

Morning Scrappy Friends! Today I was so thrilled and honored to be a Guest Designer at Authentique Paper. The collection I was asked to work with was "Thankful". This was perfect since in Canada we have already celebrated our Thanksgiving so I had tons of photos to work with. The collection is so beautiful with all the muted colors and elements. So I would love to share my projects with you today.
Making some flowers with my Daisy punch
I love using the stickers in the collection for banners along with some patterned paper.

Nicole and Ashley are just the best of friends, and loved goofing around outside taking pictures.
I made some flowers, because you know I love flowers, then stamped with a leaf stamp and fussy cut them out.
I had a little bit of the collection left so I decided to make a card. I just love the stickers that came with the collection.

This idea came from the Authentique blog and I loved it so much I wanted to make one. I used a 8x10 picture frame and the Authentique "Peaceful" collection to make a quick little layout. After it's framed it makes a great dry erase board! I used some gesso to stamp on some snowflakes to add a little detail. I discovered a new technique today, lol. Your going to love this, lol. I put a sticker over part of the photo then decided to take it off. It ripped some of the color of the photo..hmmm... I thought it looked kind of fun, so I put the sticker all over the photo and pulled off more color. See what you learn when you make mistakes?
Thanks so much if you made it through this long post! Have a great day my friends!!

Butchart - Sketchabilities

It's a new reveal today at Sketchabilities!! When I saw the flowers, I knew I was going to love this one, lol. I had a stash of Authentique and decided it would suit my photos of Butchart Gardens, I wanted something earthy yet girly, lol. So this is me, just hanging out in the gardens, sipping my coffee. It was a fabulous day and it's one of my favorites spots on the island to visit. I did some inking, some misting and for the third photo I took a little envelope and did some stamping and inking ( then covered most of it up). The hardest part was what to do with all those little flowers..I needed centers, lol. Ohhh yeahhh.... ummm I had some stickles that I have never used, lol. Perfect for the flowers. I just took my time with this one and played around. I really am happy how it turned out. I'm off and running so I hope to see you all over at Sketchabilities!

Let's Get Sketchy - ScrapLift Week - True Blue

 My scraplift of Bev!!!
Bev's Layout

Morning!!  It's MONDAY!! And that means a new fun challenge at Let's Get Sketchy. When we have a month like October that has Five Mondays, our fabulous coordinator Brenshevia has to come up with a fun challenge! Well today it is a scraplift challenge. How fun is that?? We were each assigned one of our fellow design team members to scraplift.  My scraplift buddy is Bev. She not only did a fabulous layout..but she also did the sketch for that week! It was so hard to pick just one of her layouts to do...she is so talented!

This layout is of my scrap buddy Gabriella. Wow..we have known each other since elementary school. We both moved, got married and lost contact for a long time. One day..I find out that she and her family live about a block from my house. We re-connected, I got her hooked on scrapping...and the rest is history. We text, we do coffee, we scrap, we SHOP, and this is where the photo was taken, a scrapbook store, lol. So this one is for you Gabe!! Love ya Girlfriend!!

More She Art

Title: "Love This"

Hi Girls!! I'm sure you know by now, but I'm in LOVE with my "She Art" class. I'm learning so many new techniques and having SO much fun! I was pretty excited that I made my own clothes this time and even made a bird house. An artist I am not, but I'm learning. It's just so amazing what you can do with paint and bubble wrap, lol. I used some scraps from my Authentique collections and just sat back and got creative. That's what it's all about, no "rights" or "wrongs"...just plain FUN! Thanks so much everyone for your sweet comments and support in this journey I am on. I really appreciate it.

Trick or Treat

Happy Fall!!! I can't believe it's October 1st already...where did summer go? I do love fall..the crisp mornings, the bright sun and the falling leaves. It's my favorite time of year! Our challenge this month at Unique Crafters is Halloween!!! I just know you girls have some Halloween papers hanging around your studios, lol. A card, a layout, a home decor project..anything you feel like creating! For this one I used some of my Authentique that I had bought and did a card! I'm trying to build my card 'stash'. Hope to see you there!

Spoon Shav'n

Morning!!  The other day I was going through my blog feed and visited my friend Kerys's Blog and she did this oh so cute layout from a sketch by Brenda Ragsdale over at MOB ( Mother of Boys) scrapbook kit club. I've been so busy scrapping Nicole's wedding and other layouts, that I thought I should check it out! This is really going to encourage me to scrap more of the "men" in my life! Look out boys..mom's on a roll now! So..this is Ryan back in 1995! He was three years old and wanted to be "just like daddy", so Clint gave him some shaving cream and a plastic spoon so Ryan could shave with him. Just too cute right? I used some of my Authentique stash for this one. I figure it's ok to use it now that I have some of the new collections to play with, lol.  Have a wonderful day my friends!! Hope the sun is shining in your part of the world!

Toil & Trouble

Morning!!! I'm just having a blast playing with the new Authentique collections. I don't do a lot of Halloween layouts but I think this is my third layout with this one. I can't get enough of the shabby look to this line. This photo of the kids is from 2004..I can't believe how small Ryan looks..wow! I even played with some mixed mediums..oh yeah..I'm trying, lol. I used Gesso for the first time and I'm just in love with Distress Crackle. This layout is for the color inspiration at Authentique. I will admit when I saw the challenge I went and bought just a "few" more pieces to the collection, lol. Now I have a little left over for my stash! I also used the sketch from Creative Scrappers for some inspiration. Have a wonderful scrappy day everyone!

Little Monsters

For the New Bo Bunny Card Sketch Challenge ..Please scroll down!

BOO!!! This afternoon I was browsing away when I came upon this fun sketch on the Authentique blog. Well, I just so happen to have some of the new Enchanted collection on my desk so I thought..take a break and do a fun layout! This is Ryan and Armando, his bestest friend, lol. They hang out together...ALL THE TIME!!! They came to me a few weeks before Halloween last year and said "Mommy...will you sew us some costumes? We want to be Greek God's?"...Why yes my little monsters I answered, lol. Nothing more fun than working with shiny material right? I did have a good time sewing the costumes. I even made Ryan a wreath for his head. I haven't sewen costumes since the kids were small, so it brought back a ton of memories. I'm now wondering what they are going to come up with this year... I did hear the whisper of "Power Rangers" lol.

Toil & Trouble

I know, I know..your all saying "What's she doing posting a Halloween layout in August?". Well let me explain, lol. The girls at Urban Scrapbook are busy decorating the store for Fall, so Pat said "Hey Lynn, would you like to use the new Authentique and do a Halloween layout?". Well of course I was happy to oblige, lol. I got out my black distress crackle and gave it a whirl. Now if only I can figure out how to get it off the template...live and learn my friends. I even gave the layout a shot of Goosebumps (can't really see them). It was fun to do something grungy, well my form of grungy anyways. My sister sent me this photo of her daughter Laya and Aaron last Halloween when I told her about my latest project, so thanks Char!. His makeup was just amazing. When he showed up at my door I just couldn't stop staring. So Happy Halloween in August my friends!!

Best Buds

It's another sketch reveal my friends at Let's Get Sketchy today. Our sketch comes from our own talented Tabitha. This was an easy one to work with. I had some Authentique on my desk and this photo of my daughter when she was 2 years old with her very best buddy Chancy. We rescued Chancy from the local shelter when she was just a few months old. She was Nicole's best friend and protector. We have so many fond memories of her. Everything just fell together for this layout. I love when that happens! So...stop by, have some fun and join our challenge if you can. I would love to see some friends come by.
