Lazy Days

Is there anything better than those lazy days at the lake? The days when you just hang out, play in the water, soak up the sun, play in the sand? Yes, I'm talking about the day in the life of a Goldendoodle, lol. It's all about play and sleep. Well, I guess those are my days at the lake too, lol. My sweet friend Pat at Urban Scrapbook challenged me once again to use this collection from Bo Bunny to do a lake layout. Dark rich colors, looks like fall? I'm in love!!! With the sketch at Let's Capture These Sketches I was set! So much fun! Hope your all having a sunny and beautiful day!

Thanks so much for stopping by. I love reading your comments and I appreciate your scrappy support! Have a wonderfully happy scrappy day! Lynn

Little Moments, Big Memories

This is Tessa. She was my best friend. My companion and my fur baby. I can't even begin to write everything that she meant to me and my family. She will be so dearly missed. We had Little Moments with her, but Big Memories. She was my "pretty girl". She is gone to heaven now, and I miss her every day. I used the sketch at Let's Capture These Sketches to complete my layout. Thank you so much my friends for your kind words, your thoughtful emails and hugs during this last week. I really appreciate each and every one of you.

Strength Courage & Wisdom

Today was a very sad day for our family. Our beloved pet of sixteen years passed away this morning, peacefully in my arms. She was my companion and a friend to many. She will be sadly missed. Again, I couldn't face being around the house cleaning her things, so I came to my studio and did what I do for therapy. I scrap! When I saw the challenge today at Scrap It With A Song I started to cry and knew what I wanted to do. The challenge was a song for the New Year. I chose India Arie "Strength, Courage & Wisdom". I love the lyrics so much I included them in my layout to remind me of what I want to achieve.  Below is the link to the song, and it is so fitting for me. The last two years have been trying for sure. I don't want to go into details, but two surgeries, a brain trauma, and my family being by my side has made me the person I am today. I want to grow, I want to smile, I want to be happy and just live for today. I also combined this with a sketch challenge at Let's Capture These Sketches which was so beautiful, I hope I did it justice. P.S. Thanks to all of you that voted for me today at http://www.practicalscrappers.com/2012/01/layout-contest-group-5_17.html . It's a one day only vote, so I appreciate all our your support my friends.

My Sunflower

This is all about my sunflower! When I had surgery, Nicole bought me a bouquet of sunflowers which are one of my favourite flowers. We were playing with the camera at the cabin and took this photo which I love (it's my screensaver lol). I wanted to do a layout using this photo and so when I found another sketch at lets capture these sketches I was pretty excited. I found some old Bo Bunny paper that I had stored in my stash and away I went. Thanks to the talented Martine who designed the sketch! The twist was to not use any cardstock, which was easy for me because I rarely use it! This layout brought me back to summer and my sunflower since today I'm looking out my window and all I see is snow, lol.
Lets Capture These Sketches #63
The journaling reads: It stands in the garden border so elegant and tall, The lovely yellow sunflower, the happiest flower of all. It loves to hold its head high, towards the heavens above, For it know that God is watching, and tending it with love. A lesson can be learned from this gracious yellow flower, It doesn't question how it grows, but trust God's wondrous powers.

The challenge at sketches in thyme this week was to use a sketch, any sketch and show your work. I love this one, so I thought I would share it with the girls there!

A day in the zoo

Everyone know I love challenges. Well I found a new challenge at Lets caputure these sketches. This is for Challenge #161 where Heather did an amazing sketch with a twist. You had to have a 'critter' on the layout. Well...I thought these zoo pics would definitely qualify as critters, lol. I did have fun with the slice, cutting out the swirls and the title. I even used my new border punch. This is what you do when it's 11:00pm and your having fun scrapbooking. And...a Happy Thanksgiving to my American friends! Thanks so much for stopping by.
