Right Here, Right Now. Today



Hi everyone! Hope your all having a fabulous day!!! Today is my last design team reveal for Sketchabilities. I've really enjoyed the two terms I've had with Karan. She is such a talented sketch designer, artist and a beautiful friend. I've had this photo for a long time, and was looking for a time when I was ready to scrap it. I've hidden the journaling on the tag, but it's the story of my Dad and my daughter Nicole. My dad bought us a lake lot and built a cabin from scratch for our family. Every morning he would go out and water the tiny trees that he bought for around the yard. Nicole was always up early so she was thrilled to go out with "Grampy" to help. He was such a wonderful Grandpa. He would always look at me and say "These trees are not for me, I'll be gone long before they are grown, but they will be here for you to enjoy". If we only knew that we would lose my dad shortly after. My dad passed when Nicole was only 8 years old, but she remembers Grampy and the fun they had together. My stories could go on and on, but the tears are flowing so  I will share more of his story through my scrapbooking another time. Here's to beautiful memories and to all of us who have lost a special someone.

Life Is Like A Camera

"Life is like a Camera, Just Focus on what's important,  and Capture the Good Times, Develop from the Negatives, And if things don't work out, Just Take Another Shot"

 Morning!!! When I found this saying on Pinterest I just knew I had to use it on a page. I played with A LOT of modeling paste and paint. No background paper on this one, just me and my paints. I'm really loving using all that craft paint that I had bought, and all the stencils that I have. I know they were for some great idea I had, can't remember what, but now they are coming in very handy. I think it was my wood home projects phase, lol.  I'm really enjoying this type of art. It's total freedom and relaxation for me. I learn something new every day and I'm just having so much fun. Now..if I could get Jax to stop stealing my foam stamps (another great idea I must have had when a bought a million of them). See...all these things do come in handy, glad I kept all these 'treasures'. Not sure hubby likes them stored in his office, but they are making their way home to my studio. Bo Bunny Serenade Mini - Designer Showcase Day


 (All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them)


Morning!! Today is a very exciting day for me!!! My first amazingly awesome news is... Bo Bunny asked me to stay on with them as a Permanent Team Member!!! I almost couldn't breathe when they asked me. I'm so honored and excited to be a part of such an amazing group of designers. I can't say enough about the encouragement and support I have gotten from the ladies on the team. My second piece of news is..My Serenade mini album is in the Designer Spotlight on the Bo Bunny blog today! I loved working with these deep rich colors. I was a busy girl. Instead of using the Blooms, I decided to fussy cut all the flowers out of the paper! I had little flowers all over my desk. I thought long and hard about what I wanted to do with this album. I decided to do an album of sayings that spoke to my heart. It's an album for my studio, an album just for me. I love sayings, and as I was doing each page, it helped me reflect. What am I about? What have I gone through? What do I need to be reminded of? It was a journal of my journey in some respects. So, thank you for letting me share it with you today! Now here is the rest of the album.

 (I AM ENOUGH... I am full of sparkle & compassion. I genuinely want to make the world a better place. I love hard. I practice kindness. I'm not afraid of the truth. My First Shadow Box



Morning Everyone! Hope your enjoying this Tuesday morning. It looks like this is our last warm (-6C) day for awhile as we are headed into the deep freeze for the next few days. I wanted to share a project with you that I just finished. I made my very first Shadow box or Printers Tray, not sure what they are called. I've always wanted to try one, but you know me, I don't alter a lot of items, but I think I'm liking this!! I had a these little "doo dads" hanging around the studio in a little basket and they just had to find a home, right?? This was fun. I got out the Tim Holtz paper pack and framed all the boxes. Took so much time to plan, and then like my art journaling, you can't see the paper anyways, lol. My greatest find was my sister and I had bought "sand" years ago...not sure why, but it did come in handy when I was filling those little bottles up!! See..never throw anything scrappy away, your going to use it one day. My goal is to fill my studio with mini albums and altered items. I'm sure my clean freak boys will love it!! When I showed them this project they both actually thought it was "pretty cool". Wasn't sure what Mom was going to do with it, but at least they thought it was "cool". Should have told them it was for their media room, lol. I'm off to find something else to alter, lol, so hope your all having a wonderful day!!! Here are some close ups of my "doo dads".

Perfect Fit



Happy Monday Friends!! Hope all my American Friends had a blessed holiday weekend. I had a little down time this weekend so I thought I would play along with a challenge or two. I've been crazy busy with design assignments, which are fun and challenging in themselves, but sometimes it's just fun to play along at a few of my favorite blogs. This layout first started with a sketch I found at Scrapping Everyday Miracles. It had a twist to have a number on your layout. I do have little numbers on the circles, hope you can see them!  Then I was off to one of my favorite blogs Authentique to see what new inspiration I could find there. Well.. they are having a color challenge! Perfect for the Original collection I've been hanging on to. So combine the two and I had so much fun. I even did some stitching on it, but it's hard to see. You probably all recognize "Big Boy Jax", lol. This layout is all about how he is the "Perfect Fit" for my family and for myself. He is the most loving dog I think I have ever owned. His gentle personality and big brown eyes win me over every time. I still am amazed that he is still a puppy at 75 pounds, lol. As my daughter calls him "Mr. J" has won all of our hearts.

Live Simply Love Deeply

Morning Everyone! Hope you all had a fabulous Thanksgiving filled with good family and great food!!! While our dear friends celebrated their Thanksgiving, my sister and I (who celebrated the Canadian holiday in October) spent the day doing an art journal page together. We spent so much time looking on Pinterest for just the "right" page to do together, then neither of our pages looked anything like it in the end. Creative Freedom at it's finest!! So here is mine filled with paint, mod podge and gesso!! I had an amazing day with my sister laughing over who had paint on their faces, getting messy together and just spending time being silly sisters!

Joyful - Bo Bunny Card Sketch Challenge




Morning! Today at Bo Bunny we are having a card sketch challenge. For this one our designers were asked to make Christmas Cards. I was excited because that meant I got to play with the new Rejoice Collection. I love the deep rich colors and all the fun elements. The Future belongs to those who Believe in the Future of Their Dreams

 It's Art Journal time again! I had so much fun with this one. I'm really enjoying doing a two page journal. I like how you can carry things over from one page to the next. When I scanned and photo merged them I went "hey not so bad at all" lol. I just had to try this torn paper technique just one more time before I could give up on it. This time, a much better finished product....it DOES look like a Zebra this time...Just kidding! I combined some different tutorials I found on Pinterest. One had the brick background and one had the butterfly. I'm covered in all sorts of medium's at the moment, but new favorites of the day are Gelatos and Water Colored Pencils. Have an awesome day everyone!!! I'm going to go clean my space now!!

Morning Everyone! Today at Bo Bunny we are featuring ideas for gifts! Our design team came up with some wonderful projects, so I hope you can stop by and see what the girls have created. I decided to make a few gift bags with the Mistletoe Collection. It's so fun and bright. I was teasing my sister when she said they were cute, that her Christmas gift was going to be small because it had to fit in the bag, lol. I always have to come out of my comfort zone for altered projects, but I had alot of fun making these. I think I might buy a few more bags and have some more fun!

Peaceful Landscape


Monday, Monday!!! You all know by now what that means, lol. A new sketch reveal up at Let's Get Sketchy. Today's sketch is from our very own Bev, she is so talented. This layout I did using a photo we took on our October trip out to the cabin. Ohhh the weather man was telling us we were going to have a glorious weekend!! Full of sun and warmth. Un huh!!! We arrive at the cabin Friday morning and the snow starts falling. In total we had over 3 inches by the end of the day, lol.  I can't complain because it was so beautiful,and the dogs saw their first snow fall. We had fun romping and playing. It did melt by Sunday, but I wanted to capture our first taste of winter.

Java


Happy Sunday!! I have another page to share from my art journal. And you know I always have a story to share too, lol. With this one I saw a technique for paper tearing, sounds like fun right? Un huh. I ran off a copy of a cup, traced it, and got to work tearing paper into tiny pieces. Well, when I was done it didn't resemble a coffee mug in the least bit. Ok..I needed a new idea, lol. I then found this cool site Graphixshare.com where I found the image of a new coffee mug. So a simple page took hours to complete, but in the process I learned a new thing or two and had some fun! Hope your all having a wonderfully relaxing day!

Live Laugh Love



Hi Everyone! Happy Saturday! I just wanted to share another art page with you. This is a "double" page...just had to try the idea. I couldn't come up with a saying and just then my phone rang. My neighbour invited me over for a coffee. When I got there she was on her phone so I started looking around her kitchen. Lo and Behold...there it was. She had a plaque on the wall with the saying I was looking for..just perfect! Now I know your all saying... WOW...Lynn did it!! I can see the patterned paper on this one, lol. I tried my friends, I really tried, lol. I'm off to my mixed media art class at my local scrap store so have an awesome weekend!

Tangled & Zoo Lights

 Hi Girls!! In between taking care of Christopher who is doing much better these days and working on a contract deal, I managed to stop into Urban Scrapbook to pick up my new supplies for my new projects. These both are for the stores display. It's fun to always get to work with new collections and embellishments. This one is ME, lol. We always have so much fun decorating for Christmas. Chris and Ryan always put up the tree and Nicole organizes the lights. Mom's job is too decorate the tree because it takes me forever to sit and look at each ornament. The kids get bored by the time I'm done, lol. On a side note I wanted to mention Urban Scrapbook's blog. Every day Pat puts up a new idea she has found by one of the designers or something she's found fun on another blog. Lots of great ideas each and every day!
This one is using the new Authentique " Lovely" collection. Ohhh I'm in love with this line. This is a photo of Chris and Nicole earlier this year at Zoo Lights in Calgary. I was in awe of the whole zoo lit up for the Christmas Season. I'm definitely making a trip back there this year to see it again. Now I'm off to play my game of the "Four Bears". That's hubby, myself, Jax & Daisy, lol.  Since Chris has been staying with us, he is using our bedroom since it's easier to get around and the puppies can't get to him, lol. We have tried sleeping in the living room on the pull out couch (too soft), next we tried foam mattress'es on the den floor ( too hard), we then moved on to Ryan's room where the bed was (just right). Tonight..who knows where we will end up! Have an awesome day everyone and enjoy your weekend!
