Smile For The Camera - 17 Turtles

Good Morning! Last week I was so honored to be a guest designer for Juliana Michaels at 17 Turtles . I got to play with some awesome cut files from her Etsy Shop.

My daughter, her husband and their puppy Jackson love taking selfies, just as much as I love scrapbooking them! I just couldn't resist playing with the Smile For The Camera cut file and mixing it with the Puppy Love file. It was hard enough to pick the digital cut files, I wanted to play with them all!!! This was such a fun layout to do, I chose several of the files and got to work!
I took the frame with the dog paws on it and altered it slightly. I used the frame for my photo and I fussy cut the paw print out and used it on the side of my layout.
I chose several sheets of cardstock to cut out the files. I first cut the title Puppy Love in light green, then thought "hmm a little to light", so I cut them out of blue. So I used the negative space which was the letters L O V E and popped them into the blue title. It's so much fun to cut the files and then tuck them here and there!
And again, I cut the cameras out of light green first, then changed to blue.  Well, we can't let those green ones go to waste so I decided to make little borders at the top and bottom of the layout and tuck the green ones in there. Remember it's never a mistake, it's a chance to get creative! I was happy, it gave me more cut files to play with!! A big thank you to Juliana for letting me visit today!!

Thanks so much for stopping by. I love reading your comments and I appreciate your scrappy support! Have a wonderfully happy scrappy day! Lynn

Thank You Card by Lynn Shokoples featuring BoBunny and 17Turtles
Good Morning and Happy Monday!! Today I'm so thrilled that I'm a guest designer at 17 Turtles, Juliana Michaels is such a talented designer in the papercrafting world and she also has an Etsy Shop called  17 Turtles Etsy Shop where she designs cut files. I have a fun layout I did for her today on her blog and since I couldn't resist using the cut files, I decided to make a fun card for our Vet to say thank you for all the love and care he gives our two doodles! I used a mix of some BoBunny papers and Journal cards along with the fun files I got from Juliana to create the card. I hope you can pop over to the blog and check out the layout I did using these same files! Have an awesome day everyone!

Here are the cut files I used to create my projects.

Thowback to the 1970's - Canadian Scrapbooker

Good Morning!! I'm so excited!! I was asked to be a guest designer on the Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine blog today. It is such an honour to be a guest at my favourite scrapbook magazine. There is a story behind this layout! My best friend from junior high school and I reconnected on facebook this year. She posted this photo to my wall.. it's from 1978! I was pretty stylin back then, now wasn't I? lol. So, when I saw the "Somewhere In Time" collection from BoBunny, I just couldn't resist using it for my layout. I layered, I stamped, I stamped some more, lol. I used a cut file that I shared awhile ago and a cut file from Kerri Bradford as well. If your new to my blog there is a tab at the top called "Cameo Cut File Freebies" where I share the files that I made. Please feel free to grab one, two or all of them. I will be adding new files often. In fact there will be a new one available tomorrow!!

Good Morning! Today I'm so excited to be a guest designer at Stuck Sketches. My sweet friend Laura asked, and how could I say no to her? She is amazing and a very talented sketch designer. Epic 24/7 - Boys Rule

Good Morning!! Today I would love to share my latest project with you for my guest spot using the kit from Boys Rule. I wanted to use this collection from Simple Stories, but was a little stuck for an idea. When that happens I find a challenge for myself. This challenge was to do a block design. My favourite part of a project is embellishing, so I loved playing with all the stickers and sayings. My son is a typical sports fan! Hockey, football, soccer.. if it's sports, he's watching, so I wanted to show his passion in my layout. The sayings on the cards kept me smiling all day.

Supplies:
Patterned Paper: Kraft Dots/Stripes, Black Dots/Stripes/ Simple Stories Say Cheese
Stickers: Snap Stickers "Him"/ Simple Stories, Dimensional Stickers/ Pebbles Inc, Alphabet Stickers/Doodlebug
Cards: Snap Cards "Him"/ Simple Stories
Frames: Capture Photo Frames/ Basic Grey

Hello Pet Me - Boys Rule

Morning Everyone!!! Today at Boys Rule there is a sketch challenge, and the sketch was designed by Laura Whitaker. I just had to play along, her sketches are always so much fun. In the kit this month were some papers from a company called Lucky7factory. I had never heard of this company before and I loved their papers. I was totally surprised that they are also a Canadian company. I definitely will be looking for their products again. I wanted to make this a fun, clean and simple layout, but it just didn't turn out that way once the stamps and rub ons came out, lol. I loved these photos of Ryan and the pups when they were small. He is concentrating so hard on whatever he was doing I don't think he even knew Jax was there trying to jump over the back of the couch, lol. Ryan always has one of the dogs curled up with him somewhere. So I hope you can stop by and play along with the sketch and until next time.....

I dug right into the Pink Paislee Ephemera package and the Tim Holtz rub ons. I snuck one of the Pebbles Dimensional stickers on my layout too. Couldn't pass them up. I added a little doodling around some of the circles and this layout came together quite quickly. This was such a fun layout to do. Now I can't wait to start on my next project!!

ScrapThat Tutorial

I'm also sharing my ScrapThat layouts and close-ups in the post below!!

Morning Everyone! Today at ScrapThat  I'm sharing a tutorial with you on how I did the background on my layout using some Crafters Workshop Stencils, Modeling Paste, Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist and some Lindy's Stamp Gang Mists. Now this is the first ever photo/video tutorial I have done so bare with me, and I hope you like it!

This layout was done using the April Main Kit and the add-on kit. Once I was done spraying the background, I just had to add a little to the flowers!

ScrapThat - close ups

Good Morning Everyone!  I'm so excited to be a guest designer this month for ScrapThat. It's a Canadian Kit Club, and I have a few projects to share with you using the April Kit. When I saw the patterned papers from the Donna Salazar collection, I was in love. For this layout I used the main kit and the sketch by Amarilys Doria but flipped it on it's side. I loved having the burlap in the kit as well, it just added to the shabby feel of the layout of my daughter. I chose to do her photo in black and white to blend into the neutral colors. I added some doilies from my stash and did some faux stitching to finish my project.

Here are some close up's of the details.
I used the twine along with some glossy accents to wrap around the flowers.
I loved the Chipboard Alphas that came with the kit, and I just added a little ink to the edges.

For this layout I played with the main kit and the embellishment add on kit. I will be sharing a tutorial later this month on how I added some texture to the background. I just couldn't get enough of using the burlap, so I added it to this project as well.
Here you can see a sneak of the texture I added. I also used my sprays to add color to some white flowers from my stash.

For my last project I used the Prima Flower spray and just tucked it around my photo. I used some punches to play with the frame. The title I cute out of one the patterned papers from the main kit along with my Silhouette Cameo. I just had to add some more of the burlap to my project, can you tell how much I love it?
With the embellishment add on kit there was some chipboard from FabScraps. I used some stamps and ink along with the Maya Road Trinkets to jazz up the chipboard.

I'm a Guest At Authentique Paper Today!!!

Morning Scrappy Friends! Today I was so thrilled and honored to be a Guest Designer at Authentique Paper. The collection I was asked to work with was "Thankful". This was perfect since in Canada we have already celebrated our Thanksgiving so I had tons of photos to work with. The collection is so beautiful with all the muted colors and elements. So I would love to share my projects with you today.
Making some flowers with my Daisy punch
I love using the stickers in the collection for banners along with some patterned paper.

Nicole and Ashley are just the best of friends, and loved goofing around outside taking pictures.
I made some flowers, because you know I love flowers, then stamped with a leaf stamp and fussy cut them out.
I had a little bit of the collection left so I decided to make a card. I just love the stickers that came with the collection.

This idea came from the Authentique blog and I loved it so much I wanted to make one. I used a 8x10 picture frame and the Authentique "Peaceful" collection to make a quick little layout. After it's framed it makes a great dry erase board! I used some gesso to stamp on some snowflakes to add a little detail. I discovered a new technique today, lol. Your going to love this, lol. I put a sticker over part of the photo then decided to take it off. It ripped some of the color of the photo..hmmm... I thought it looked kind of fun, so I put the sticker all over the photo and pulled off more color. See what you learn when you make mistakes?
Thanks so much if you made it through this long post! Have a great day my friends!!

Thanks so much for stopping by. I love reading your comments and I appreciate your scrappy support! Have a wonderfully happy scrappy day! Lynn
