Friends - Practical Scrappers

Today at Practical Scrappers we are featuring cards using a white background. I loved this challenge because I don't make alot of cards and I like to have a stash on hand. Sketchabilities #70 Timeless

I'm so enjoying being part of the Sketchabilities team. I find Karan's sketches so easy to work with. I see the sketch and I just get inspiration. I chose to do this one of Nicole and Ryan. Even though they are almost five years apart in age, they have been the best of friends from the beginning. I have never seen them utter a harsh word at each other or raise their voices. They have supported each other, and even with Nicole living away from home now, all I hear is how they text or call each other daily. They may live far apart but still remain as close as ever. Ryan has always just called her "Sis", and on her wedding day he gave the toast to the bride and started his speech with "Sis", lol. They are both so special and I love when the two of them are together.

How Sweet It Is To Be Loved By You - Creative Scrappers

I was so honored to be a Guest Designer today at Creative Scrappers. I got to work with a sketch by the extremely talented Amarilys Doria . If you know me, you know I love doilies and layers, so I was so excited to get to play with this sketch. My little Daisy was at the lake with us for four days, and boy did we have fun. I just love this little girl, and I'm blessed she loves me back triple fold.

Spring Fever - Scrap it With A Song

This week at Scrap It With A Song our song was "Spring Fever" by Elvis Presley. Well....Daisy had spring fever when the snow melted and she found "MUD". Like I say... Mud = Bath. I guess we are lucky that Daisy loves baths so much. I used my new Momenta paper that I won and used the sketch #202  from Creative Scrappers to do this layout. It was fun to a bright colorful layout. It was one of the few I did where I used only paper, lol. I love cutting out flowers, maybe I'm becoming a "fussy cutter" after all, lol. Frosted Designs - Cherish

For our Frosted Designs Sketch Along Tuesday Challenge I decided to use a photo of Nicole and I on her wedding day. This is a photo I haven't scrapped yet. I was saving it for a special layout and this was it. One night Nicole came and sat by me in my studio and said she had a question to ask me. She asked if I would be her Matron of Honor at her wedding. I was stunned. I quickly asked if she wanted someone skinnier, younger, a friend maybe?? She looked at me and said "Mom, there is no one that I want standing by my side when I marry Christopher but you, you are my best friend". That was the biggest compliment I could have ever gotten. I proudly stood by her on her wedding day with tears in my eyes and a smile on my face. I love my girl and she truly is my best friend.

Graduation Journey - Let's Get Sketchy

The amazing sketch by Bev Code from Let's Get Sketchy was just perfect for a layout of Nicole graduating from University. I'm having a proud momma moment here so bare with me, lol. In the fall of 2007 Nicole was in a terrible car accident. She was hit by a City Street cleaner truck. Her car was squished and she was lucky to survive the accident. She suffered alot of spine, neck and head injuries along with back and knee injuries as well. It was a long recovery for my poor girl. Her dream was to be a ballroom dancer and she was well on her way at the time winning competitions and doing showcase dances. After the accident she couldn't dance anymore. She started to concentrate on finishing university. It took her almost 6 years to finish a 4 year degree. She threw her heart and soul into studying. She graduated in the summer of 2011 with Distinction, making the Dean's list and her marks were a 4.0! I'm so proud of this young lady. I wish everyone could spend an hour talking to her. I'm in tears just remembering her journey. She is everything to me, and I admire her in so many different ways.

This is what life is all about - ScrapFIT workout #66

A few weeks ago we went to the cabin for my birthday. It was Daisy's first time there. It's one acre of fenced pure puppy playground. Millions of pinecones, billions of sticks, and no end of places to play. There wasn't a moment when Daisy didn't have a stick in her mouth. We must have gone for at least 30 walks in four days, lol. What I love about her and what dogs can teach us is to live in the moment. Enjoy each and every minute of every day. No stress, no worry. I call her my therapy dog because I'm learning so much about myself and she is teaching me so many things. This layout I did for our challenge this week at ScrapFIT. Scrap It With A Song - Beautiful Day

Our song for this week at Scrap It With A Song is "Beautiful Day" by U2. The day Chris & Nicole had these photos taken was a beautiful day for sure. I could scrap these over and over again. Just looking at them makes me miss them more everyday. Our children grow up so fast and then their lives become their own. My advice to all young mom's is...enjoy each day, treasure each moment, and love them with all your heart! My girls at Urban challenged me yet again with this 6x6 paper pack from Cosmo Cricket. They wanted to see me use it as a background. I love to be challenged and the best part is I discovered I love Cosmo Cricket and used my Sew Ribbon zig zag tool for the first time!

Practical Scrappers - It's A Girl!

The challenge today at Practical Scrappers is a baby card! I just found out a few weeks ago that my niece was expecting a baby girl! This was the perfect day to make her a card! Her two year old son Noah kept saying "Momma having a baby sister for me to play with"...I guess he knew all along!

Daisy's New Brother Jax

Here's the story of Jax!

On Tuesday night my breeder Sonia called and said a family had brought this little male puppy back to them because they just weren't ready for a puppy. They only had him one day!! She knew we eventually wanted to get Daisy a playmate so she asked if I wanted to come see him. We arranged for us to bring him home for the day to see how things went. Well...I saw this little guy, my heart went "thump" and that was it, lol. So now I say we have "Oodles of Doodles". So everyone meet Jax, a nine week old, 15 pound goldendoodle!! ( And a big thanks to my sister Char for the adorable photo of him).

Unique Crafters Challenge #2 "Puppy Love"

Our second challenge is up and ready to go!!! This month at Unique Crafters the challenge is paper flowers!! Now who doesn't have a few flowers sitting on their desk? I know I have some, ok...I have tons thanks to Katie at Unique! This was such a fun project to do, since I love flowers. I think they are on every layout I do somewhere. You are so Loved - ScrapFIT Workout #65

Let's just start with the journaling, lol.  Noah had his very first visit with Daisy.Instantly there was a bond between this sweet little boy and little Daisy Doodle. Noah gave her so many hugs and kisses that day. He even climbed in her dog bed to give her some cuddles. There is just nothing cuter than a little boy and a puppy having some cuddle time. This layout is for the ScrapFIT Workout #65. We had to take inspiration from the photo below, so I chose to work with the Echo Park "This &  That" collection. It was the vintage look that jumped out at me, and the "boy" theme. I used a sketch by Rochelle Spears at Paper Secrets but couldn't enter the challenge, but wanted to thank her just the same!
